Scan of Urban Forestry Outreach Campaigns

SUFC commissioned Fifth Estate Communications to conduct a scan of five urban forestry outreach campaigns, including public awareness efforts, tree-planting initiatives and a capital campaign, as part of their discovery work for the Vibrant Communities Strategic Communications Plan. The goal of the scan was to gather messaging and communications strategies and tactics from each campaign, and to capture best practices and lessons learned. Fifth Estate identified clear trends emerging around successful programs, including creating a “cycle of value,” providing multiple points of engagement and meeting people where they are, geographically and emotionally.
